 Bradford Goes for Gold

Bradford Gold is the city’s official brand to support the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

London 2012 presents the Yorkshire region with a fantastic opportunity to grow, and ultimately prosper from the legacies that will be left by the Olympic Games.

Bradford Gold aims to ensure that Bradford contributes to delivering a successful Games, but also that Bradford, and the district, can benefit from the Games being hosted in the UK, through developing sporting, educational, business and cultural opportunities for residents of Bradford.

The Bradford Gold Group is a partnership between Bradford Council, Bradford College, University of Bradford, Bradford Bull, Bradford City and the Community Sport Network. The group is keen to hear from, and include activity from, organisations across the District that are planning to run Olympic themed events and activities in 2012.

Bradford Gold aims to make the most of five ‘Golden Opportunities’ not just running up to and during London 2012, but also as a legacy for years to come. These are:

  • Becoming a World Leading Sporting Region
  • Active and Engaged Communities
  • A Carnival of Culture
  • Enhanced Profile and Tourist Potential
  • Winners in Business

Bradford Gold plays a key part in Yorkshire Gold which is the region’s brand that supports the staging of the London 2012 Olympics.
